Name 3 Songs: You’ve been vocal about your influences are Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, and then you brought up hyperpop being an influence. The hyperpop movement largely is and was kind of online. So I’m curious how much of finding your sound was a digital or like online evolution?

Christina: The interesting thing is we started this during COVID. So it definitely started online. A lot of the Long Island and emo thing – being in quarantine brought a lot of nostalgia. I feel like something about being locked in your house suddenly, you just wanted to revisit old things. And I grew up like really, really obsessed – I was in like third grade with like the swoopy bangs and the emo band shirts. Like I felt tortured that no other third grader could ever relate if I tried to show them like a My Chemical Romance song. I remember trying to show my best friend. I had the CD and he was just like, what is this? I was trying to explain it, but you really can’t explain My Chemical Romance to someone in third grade. You’re like 10.

Nick: Yeah, they’re probably like, what are you on?

You’re like, it’s just a feeling. If you know, you know.

Christian: It’s a feeling, literally. That’s what it was. It was just the feeling it gave you. So during quarantine, it was very much like, we’re in a house, missing our friends so that sad music made us wanna do something similar.
