Name 3 Songs: You had a really fun run of shows last summer playing some festivals, and it looks like bringing your music to life is like a really fun part of your art. So what has it been like for you translating your music to the live setting?

Hannah Grae: Well, I started writing music and I wrote my first mini album a year before I had even played my first live show. So it was something that I was always anticipating, but I didn’t really know what it was going to be like and whether I was going to like it or whether I was going to get immense stage fright. But the music is so, you know, there’s a lot of live instruments. So when I did eventually bring it to stage, it just felt so right and it’s honestly one of my favourite things ever to do.

You’ve spoken before about how you’re really influenced by Avril Lavigne, which we can deeply relate to just as music fans and girls. But what was it about her in particular that spoke to you as an artist?

I think it’s mainly because that sort of music is so male dominated and it always has been. And Avril Lavigne amongst other incredible artists like Hayley Williams, Gwen Stefani, etc. They just bring such a feminine edge to it. It’s still such a male dominated corner of the industry but they’re so feminine and powerful and I just love the angst and the attitude that she brings to her music.
